Announcement:

We regret to announce that due to COVID-19 our annual WINE AND CHOCOLATE Gala is cancelled.

The children we serve have more needs than ever. In this time of dire need, we are working to find alternative ways to raise funds to continue and even expand our programming.

Please consider donating to Westmoreland Children First through PayPal or by credit card.  We appreciate your support.

In accordance with state regulations, every children and youth agency must have an appointed advisory board. Westmoreland Children First (WCF) serves as an advisory board to the Westmoreland County Children's Bureau, offering review of the bureau's operations and budget. The board is also a non-profit, fund-raising and support organization that supplements the restricted funding provided by the government to provide care to county children in need. In its second role, the WCF is very active and seeks to raise funds and assist in ancillary ways to make a difference in the lives of Westmoreland children.

Some of our Activities

Wine & Chocolate Gala

Each year in mid-October, the WCF hosts a one-of-a-kind event for the community to enjoy wine tasting and gourmet chocolate. This event helps raise funds for holiday gifts, coats, and much more.

Free Literacy Library

The WCF has made a commitment to help provide quality reading opportunities for children in the care of the bureau.  Families and children who come to the bureau are encouraged to freely "take a book" or exchange a book and enjoy the excitement of literature!

Child Abuse Awareness

As an ongoing goal of the WCF, child abuse prevention is an important community awareness incentive. Each year, the WCF strives to support the Children's Bureau's efforts in bringing awareness to this often overlooked societal concern.
